Attitude is Everything!

Brilliant quote posted today by Victoria from Ladies Who Launch! Please read it. We have more power over our circumstances than we might think…

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, gifted ability, or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace from that day. We cannot change our past, we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing that we can do is play on the one string that we have and this string is, Attitude. I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me and ninety percent how I react to it. And so it is with you….We are in charge of our Attitudes.” -

Decision-making is powerful!

As a small business owner working hard to make your business successful in this economy, you want to make everything you do ‘COUNT BIG’. You know you can’t afford to miss an opportunity by making the ‘wrong’ decision so you spend a lot of time and effort mulling over the different possibilities and outcomes.

Unfortunately, what often ends up happening is the big decision gets pushed back further and further as you wait for some divine inspiration to tell you what path to choose. Most likely this divine sign won’t come as a big bang though. Often, it’s already come but you just don’t realize it yet.

It’s important for you to remember that your previous experiences are extremely valuable and are packed with golden nuggets of business smarts. Whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur or just starting out with your business, you have incredible life experiences that can inform your business decisions and help guide you consciously and sub-consciously to a successful resolution.

Take a moment to sit quietly and affirm to yourself how valuable YOU are and how grateful you feel for your commitment and passion for your business. Then ponder your big decision on paper. Weigh the pros and cons ON PAPER. Then do something amazing – make the decision!

There’s something to “just doing it.” It’s POWERFUL to decide. You get a momentum going that makes you dynamic and turns you into a “go-getter.”

Owning a small business is all about being willing to be a leader. Willing to take chances, make decisions and, of course, reap the rewards. YOU know you can do this! Now go out there and create the reality you dream about – one decision at a time.

Welcome to the new blog!

Hi there,

For some weird reason, our old blog running WordPress 2.2.1 (YIKES!) was unable to update to version 3.0 so I installed this brand-spanking new blog today! Welcome!

Downtown Women’s Club Sacramento launched

I’ve dallied with other women’s groups before and even considered leading one BUT never found quite the right fit. Well, I think I’ve finally found it! Downtown Women’s Club (DWC) is a unique group as they offer casual in-person meetings and events but also have a great online presence and features for members. Most networking groups have either/or. I decided to take the plunge and become the DWC Sacramento leader and I’m really excited about it. Check out our site and if you’re a local woman in business please signup and tell your friends! The more members we can get, the better our resources to build our dream businesses!

Twitter and How to Use It For Business

Twitter is a relatively new social network started in 2006. It’s a micro-blogging tool where you post what you’re doing or what you’re working on in small bites. You post just a sentence or two and can include links to related resources. A lot of people use Twitter to post updates about what they had for breakfast or that they’re watching an awards show, generally useless comments. But as a small business owner you can use Twitter in a much more effect and dynamic way. To get the most out of your Twitter account, you need to post about your latest product development and launches, new partnerships you’ve developed, your latest hires or office upgrades, etc. As a website designer, I post about my latest launches and always include a link to my site. It’s an easy way to create links back to your site which makes your site look more relevant to Google search results. You can also use your mobile phone to post. I haven’t tried this yet but it looks convenient and fun. Don’t overlook Twitter! Give it a shot but make your posts informative and always include a link!
